Love is not easy to come by these days, which is probably why dating apps and websites are becoming more and more popular. Even for celebrities.

Hillary Duff and Britney Spears have admitted to joining dating app Tinder, and while you may applaud them for the courage to sign up considering their celebrity status, it seems that more and more stars are ready to admit that they, too, are having difficulty looking for dates.

Among the big names on Tinder, according to Mirror UK, are Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Lindsay Lohan, Adele, Halle Berry, and Chelsea Handler.

A lot of popular individuals are on the app, so much so that celebrities and athletes can have their Tinder profiles verified. If you're relatively near, you might get the chance to go out on a date with a star!

The company announced in a blog post, "Starting today, you may see a verified symbol on some profiles. Now when notable public figures, celebrities, and athletes appear in your recommendations, you'll know it's for real."

Like celebrity accounts on Facebook and Twitter, the Toronto Sun noted that verified accounts on Tinder will also feature a blue checkmark next to the user's name.

In order to ensure that you just swiped the photo of the real star, Tinder vice president of global communications Rosette Pambakian spoke with Mashable and said that the said profiles are to be reviewed on a case-to-case basis.

While Tinder is connected to Facebook, celebrities cannot use their real names on the app if they're using a fake one on the social media site. However, with verified accounts, Tinder has made it possible for them to use their real names on the app even when they've been using fake ones on Facebook.

The app makes around 26 million matches a day, and according to USA Today, the verification status did not change its simple design: user profiles will still share a few photos with a first name, age, mutual friends, and mutual interests. Within a certain distance, recommendations will show up in each other's profile, and users can swipe right on profiles they are interested in, and left for matches that are not up to their tastes.

This time, if a blue checkmark appears, you can be sure it's the real celebrity, athlete, or public figure that you're swiping left or right to. So if ever you're in the same area as your celebrity crush, who knows, if he or she is on Tinder, you may have the chance to score a date.

Keep your fingers crossed!
