Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson revealed in a recent interview that he is practicing abstinence and not having sex with singer Ciara.

In an E!Online report, it was noted that Wilson made this revelation during an interview with Pastor Miles McPherson at The Rock Church in San Diego. 

He was initially there to talk about his relationship with God, his life and his success in the NFL. He piqued public interest after saying that he and Ciara, whom he has been dating for a while, are not having sex because God asked him to do so.

"[Ciara] was on tour, and I was looking at her in the mirror, and God spoke to me. He said, 'I need you to lead her.' I told her, 'What would you do if we took all that "extra stuff" off the table, and just did it Jesus' way?'" explained Wilson.

The singer reportedly agreed to Wilson's decision to control themselves from having sex. The football player admitted that their decision takes a lot of determination and willpower, so he asked the people for help.

"I ain't gonna lie to y'all now-I need you to pray for us. I know y'all have seen her on the screen. If there's a 10, she's a 15," he said.

Cosmopolitan reported that the two have been dating each other since April. This is Ciara's first relationship after her failed romance with ex-fiance Future.

They were first spotted during Ciara's "I Can Do That" series wrap party earlier in April, according to InTouch Weekly. They were next seen at the White House State Dinner a few weeks after.

E!Online earlier reported that the couple enjoyed each other's company during their first days dating and that the two are willing to make time for each other despite their busy schedules.

During her interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, E!Online thought that Ciara was not thinking about dating as she maintained that the "greatest joy" in her life is Future Jr., her son with her rapper ex.

"You live and you learn. My son has given me so much clarity. Now I'm like a full-on woman," she said in the interview. "You don't really understand what that means until a few things happen to you in life, but my son has totally given me so much clarity and I couldn't be more clear than I've needed to be," .

InTouch Weekly said Wilson filed for divorce from his wife Ashton Meem in April 2014 while Ciara broke off her engagement with Future last August 2014. Rumors say Future cheated on Ciara while he was on tour.
