Leaks show that the iPhone 6S would disappoint many avid users with its small starting storage, thicker build and lack of exterior design modification.
Upcoming models of iPhones are expected to exceed its predecessor with better features and specifications because it is one of the most bought smartphones worldwide.
But recently, rumors surfaced that the new iPhone would be sporting not only a new name but three features that would surely disappoint users.
Business Insider got word that the iPhone 6S would start at an entry-level storage capacity of 16GB.
Rumors about the storage capacity the device was first posted in 9to5Mac.com, where photos of the upcoming iPhone's internal components showing a disappointing 16GB flash storage chip.
"In addition to expected changes such as a Force Touch display, upgraded camera system, and new Qualcomm LTE chip for up to twice-as-fast data speeds, the next iPhone will likely include updated NFC hardware, fewer and more efficient chips, and new flash memory that may nonetheless remain at a 16GB minimum capacity," the report explained.
The same report said that these conclusions were based on their joint analysis with Ottawa-based technology intelligence firm Chipworks.
Meanwhile, more leaks point to more disappointing changes in the new iPhones set to be released by the third quarter of this year. 2015 Apple smartphones are expected to be thicker without an enhanced battery life.
BGR cited Engadget Japan in a report that notes how the new iPhone would be sporting a 7.1mm thick body.
"For a company that values thinness more than battery life, this would be a fairly interesting turn of events," the report reads, also saying that users would welcome a thicker iPhone if it entails a bigger battery.
According to reports and leaks about the newest iPhone, there is no possibility that it would have a bigger battery.
BGR thinks the thicker built of the iPhone 6S is due to its new features including a higher-resolution display as well as the Force Touch.
The third and final disappointment we know so far is that iPhone would have very minimal physical changes on the exterior of the iPhone.
Users become giddy about new features and better designs everytime a new edition of the phone is announced.
Unfortunately, iPhone 6S would not have major exterior design changes aside from getting a thicker build.
This, Mac Rumors noted, was probably because iPhone models with "S" on its name "historically looked almost identical" to the iPhones preceding them which, in this case, is the iPhone 6.
