Ted Mosby will reunite with a romantic interest from his past later on in season nine of "How I Met Your Mother."
According to TV Line, the popular CBS sitcom is set to bring back actress Ashley Williams who will play Victoria, Ted's former flame, one last time before the series finale next spring. Victoria became Ted's first serious girlfriend in season one of "How I Met Your Mother" after the two met at a wedding. The couple then dated in a number of episodes until she accepted a job offer in Germany as a pastry chef, notes IB Times.
Later, the couple tried to rekindle their old flame once again during the first couple of episodes in season 8 and briefly got engaged. However, Victoria ended the relationship when Ted refused to stop being friends with Robin.
Ted and Victoria will reunite in episode 19, which is scheduled to film sometime in December and air in April.
Until then, HIMYM fans can look forward to an all-new episode of the comedy series next week featuring a guest appearance from "New Normal" alum Andrew Rannells.
According to an official episode synopsis, Rannells will play Darren, a guy at Barney and Robin's wedding who intentionally stirs up trouble among the gang. It is also worth noting that Marshall will finally arrive at the Farhampton Inn in the same episode.
Executive producer Craig Thomas also dropped a new spoiler hint for the upcoming episosde, entitled "Bass Player Wanted."
He tweeted, "Folks are asking if The Mother is in the next new #HIMYM. I could say 'No spoilers.' Or I could just say, 'Yes. A LOT.'"
Nonetheless, fans should not take that as proof that she will be in every episode moving forward, although Thomas promises that viewers will get to see a lot of the mother during episode No. 200, which airs in late January.
"You're going to be so sick of her by the end [of the series]," said the executive producer to TV Line, adding that new series regular Cristin Milioti is "the star" of "How Your Mother Met Me," which is told from her character's perspective.
"How I Met Your Mother" S9E13 is set to air on Monday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
