Jennifer Lopez is rumored to have a hand in the recent separation of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

An insider of the New York Daily News claimed that Affleck and Lopez are expected to rekindle their romance now that the actor has parted ways with Garner, his wife for 10 years.

"Everyone is talking about J.Lo and Ben and saying it's inevitable they will get together again at some point," New York Daily News' source revealed. "They were pretty flirty at the Oscars and have stayed in touch over e-mail. Jennifer Garner never liked it."

At this year's Academy Awards, the actor reportedly went up to Lopez during a commercial break and whispered teasingly in her ear, which led to the entertainer hitting Affleck's arm playfully, Fox News Latino reported. The "I Luh Ya Papi" singer once described in her memoir "True Love" that the movie star was her first big heartbreak.

Known as the original Bennifer, Affleck and Lopez got engaged in November 2002 with a wedding planned the next year. The wedding was then postponed in September 2003, with the duo parting ways in January 2004, Us Weekly wrote.

Since then, Lopez married Marc Anthony just a few months after breaking up with Affleck, the news outlet added. The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor, meanwhile, wed Garner in June 2005. They have three kids together: Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.

Despite the rumors going around that Lopez caused Affleck and Garner's divorce, a source told Us Weekly that the singer/actress "had nothing to do with the split," and that the "sh***y" rumor is "not true." Lopez is now dating choreographer Casper Smart.

Affleck and Garner's joint statement about their separation came after just one day of their 10-year wedding anniversary.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the former couple said in the statement, as quoted by PEOPLE. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."

According to The Sun, Affleck was absent from Garner's birthday celebration in April to spend some time alone in Canada, with his wedding ring visibly absent. In May, he also missed Mother's Day and went on a trip with his brother Casey.

Garner's childhood friend Elizabeth Cary Lantz Brown told PEOPLE that the actress described Affleck as her "soul mate," adding that the pair's marriage was centered mostly on their three children.

"They're really great parents. They're really involved," Brown said, as reported by PEOPLE. "Our conversations weren't centered on her life as a movie star but her life as a mom. She loves her work, but it's nothing compared to her kids."
