Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip have just released a new collaborative mixtape titled “The Abstract & the Dragon.” In addition to their recently released single, “Thank You,” which features Kanye West and Lil Wayne, the mixtape offers 28 new tracks with guest spots from A Tribe Called Quest, Missy Elliott, Talib Kweli, Raekwon and more. As you dive into the album, you can pick up on both Busta and Tip’s faltering poise. Their deliveries aren’t as strong, their content struggling to hit home, however, it’s still a refreshing blast from the past. It’s reminiscent of hip-hops earlier years, before it shifted its focus to weed, promethazine and outlandish sexual exploits.
