Microsoft Lumia 940 XL Release Date & Price: Top 5 Specs & Features to Watch For [Rumors]

Microsoft is looking to go big with Microsoft Lumia 940, as it will not only introduce a bigger variant in Microsoft Lumia 940 XL, but it will also introduce new features not available in its predecessor, the Microsoft Lumia 930.
That said, a benchmark test surfaced online that details the major features of the new smartphone. GSMarena listed all of the upcoming phone's projected display, specs, operating system, camera, battery and features.
Display
The new Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is expected to have a 2559 x 1440 touchscreen with 5.7-inch display. It will be a lot bigger than its predecessor, Nokia Lumia 930 as it only has a 5-inch display.
Specs And Operating System
The Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is expected to be powered by an Octacore CPU (SoC Qualcomm (ARMv7) with a GPU of Qualcomm Adreno 430. Also, it will be powered by DirectX 11 API, this will provide Windows programs with high-performance hardware-accelerated multimedia support.
Meanwhile, the operating system of Microsoft Lumia 940 XL will be the first ever phablet to run the latest Windows 10 mobile version.
Camera
For the front camera, the picture quality will be at 4.8MP (2592 x 1936) and its video quality will be in Full-HD (1920 x 1080).
For its back camera, the picture quality will be at an impressive 17 MP (4992 x 3744) while videos captured using this phone will have an astounding quality with 4K resolution and will be in Ultra Hiigh-Definition (3840 x 2160).
Battery
For its battery life, the phone is rumored to have a battery capacity of 3,300 mAh. That will be a major boost compared to the 930 as it only has a capacity of 2420 mAh that can last for 11 hours and 30 minutes talk time and up to 75 hours of playing music. With that said, 940 and 940 XL is expected to surpass all those numbers.
Features
The phone is also rumored to have an iris scanning tech, a native pen support (which will be the same as a stylus), a 3D-interaction function, continuum for Phone supports, as well as a USB Type-C connector which is a very handy feature.
According to GSMarena, "This may be used for the Continuity feature, which can switch between touch mode and desktop mode. Type C connectors can carry data, video and power simultaneously, making the setup simpler," as stated in the website.
For Nokia Lumia 940 XL release date, Digital Trends reported that the device can be expected to arrive in Fall of 2015. The device can also be referred to as "Talkman."
