It's only been four months after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and  the mobile market is now flooded with rumors about its upcoming successor -- the Galaxy S7. According to the insiders of the Galaxy S6, the target release date of the phone is Q1 2016 to efficiently respond to the threats set by its all-time rival, Apple.

However, Value Walk cites a report by South Korean news publication Newsis, suggesting that the purported launch date of the Samsung Galaxy S7 could be as early as the last few quarters of 2015.

"According to Korean reports, Samsung has already begun the process of working on the Galaxy S7, and it is expected to be completed several months earlier than was previously suggested," writes correspondent Christopher Morris.

While the mobile Alpha has yet to comment on these speculations, all eyes are now on the rumored specs of the Galaxy S7. Reports imply that it could render a 4K Super AMOLED display, for this resolution is clearly becoming a mainstream facet of consumer electronics.

With the pace set by the Galaxy S6, S7 is expected to further push the boundaries when it comes to platform, processor and memory department. It could be the first android smartphone to run on a 64bit Exynos processor clocked at 3.5 GHz, and feature a whopping 4GB RAM.

Other new and improved features include a 30 megapixel rear camera and 10 megapixel front camera. Reports add that Galaxy S7 could also introduce the new GigaPixel feature, which allows users to capture photos with better accuracy and clarity.

As if 4G is not fast enough to browse the web or download apps, Samsung Galaxy S7 is allegedly trying to get hold of a 5G network connection.

But more than these rumored features, what elates mobile users even more is Samsung's recent breakthrough in battery technology. Per Pocket-lint, Samsung's Research & Development arm recently announced that it had innovated its current lithium-ion batteries to keep running for five days (given that they are fully charged).

The team did not only use a silicon anode for this one, but they also coat layers of graphene on top to improve the battery's density and longevity. After a couple of experiments, the team got batteries that were 1.5 to 1.8 denser than the current ones, according to Engadget.

Samsung Galaxy S7's expected price is $999, as of press time. Stay tuned for more updates about its specs and final release date.
