A new set of leaked documents has confirmed that Fallout 4 is indeed in the works by Bethesda, and that the game will be set in Massachusetts.

Kotaku received a set of leaked documents concerning the game, which was codenamed Institute. These documents have been confirmed to be real, and reveal what Bethesda is planning for the next entry in the series. The game will mainly be set in the ruins of Boston and the surrounding area, which is referred to as The Commonwealth, the name of Massachusetts in the future within the Fallout canon.

Despite the word Fallout never appearing in the documents, which details scripts, character details, and other subjects, many clues suggest the documents are indeed for the next Fallout game. Besides the Commonwealth reference, the first sentence of the script is "War. War never changes." Fallout fans will recognize Ron Perlman's infamous line that begins each Fallout game; it's likely a dead giveaway for what these documents are all about. In addition the codename Institute appears to reference to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where a mission will take place in the game. Last year, Bethesda employees reportedly toured the campus to plan out a Fallout title set in Boston, and now it appears those rumors were true.

In addition, many new characters are detailed in the scripts. The main character appears to recite Ron Perlman's infamous opening line this time around. One character, Preston Garvey, will task the player to find a fusion core from a museum in the area. Another character, Travis Miles, is a DJ in the region that may give the player missions or appear as chatter on the radios throughout the game. Finally, a character called Sturges is an engineer and is described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel."

A casting call for voice actors to play the playable character is included with the documents, and the casting director for the project worked on Bethesda projects such as Dishonored and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. According to the script, the playable character will wake from a cryogenic sleep at the beginning of the game. Of course, details about the game's script and characters could change as development moves forward.
