Despite nearing its scheduled release this coming September, there aren't many information nor updates available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. But recent leaks suggest that the phablet may come with a new design.

As noted by PhoneArena, photos published online showed that the claimed Galaxy Note 5 is housed in what seemed to be a "rugged" case with some modifications compared to previous releases.

With this case render, it appears that the upcoming device could have the same external features as the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

"Apart from a cutout for the S Pen stylus at the bottom and a bottom-positioned loudspeaker (unlike previous Note devices, which had their loudspeakers at the back), the Galaxy Note 5 might also come with a volcano-shaped camera unit at the back, once again similar with the one on the Galaxy S6/S6 edge," explained Phone Arena.

Meanwhile, TechoBuffalo said that the flash module of the phone is situated on the right side of the rear camera, not below it.

Despite the rubber look, the same report said that fans are still expecting the company to add more metal and glass into the design.

Adding to this, Softpedia noticed in the case renders a 3.5 mm audio jack port now located on the upper edge of the device.

The case, however, does not show if the the upcoming phone may really come with a USB Type C port as earlier rumored.

With its much anticipated release, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is claimed to either feature a 2K or a 4K Super AMOLED flat display, but there is still a possibility that the company could switch to an OLED display, said ValueWalk.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly come in 3 variants which would be different based on their internal storage capacity: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. All of which have expandable storage capacity of up to 128GB. It is also said to have an octa-core processor at 2.9Ghz with a 64 bit architecture for the Exynos variant and a quad-core Snapdragon 808 variant.

According to KnowYourMobile, the upcoming device is expected to cost more than previous installments once it becomes available in the market because of its features and specifications. Analysts are expecting for it to be valued at $1,000. Nevertheless, this pricing is also expected to go down a few months after

The handset is believed to come with aluminium-finished edges with an all-metallic curved body. It will not only be dust and scratch resistant but also water-resistant. Finger print sensor and retina scanner are also expected to be included in the long list of features of the device which could also include Knox Security mode and a heart rate sensor.
