If you're still in denial about Jon Snow's death in the season 5 finale of "Game of Thrones," you are not alone. In fact, so many fans have so many theories about why he should still be alive, that it is no wonder they couldn't resurrect him out of sheer will.

While nobody except author George R.R. Martin knows about the fate of the character (played by Kit Harington in the HBO Series), the cast had their own opinions about his demise. For instance, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) admitted that she has "no idea" whether or not Jon is really dead.

She told MTV, "I read the scripts and I cried and I called David and Dan and took Kit out for numerous drinks." She also added, "Looking forward, they know that I can't lie very well. I can with all honesty say I have no idea what's happening."

However, when pressed for Jon Snow's odds of a return, the actress told MTV that "If I had to bet, I would say it's a 50/50 chance. There are some helpful people there, who could bring Jon back to life."

She could be speaking about the red priestess, Melisandre (Carice Van Houten). Fan theories are also pushing for this storyline as Melisandre had a lot of magical abilities and could possibly bring Jon back to life, especially considering that she arrived at the wall shortly before he was murdered by his own men.

However, Harington himself said that his character is dead and won't be returning for the next season, echoing the scene painted by showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss in a separate interview.

Not that Clarke is too heartbroken for Harington's character. She jokingly told MTV, "If it means I'm that much closer to getting to the throne, then okay."

Fans believe that Jon Snow is alive, and as an article on Vanity Fair pointed out, there are several ways that he could live. Melisandre's convenient return to the wall aside, Harington's choice of words (that he will not be returning next season) is also a bit shady because that could mean that he's still returning for the seventh season. After all, he was in talks to renew his contract for another three years last year, should his character make it out alive.

Sound off on the likelihood of Jon Snow's return to the series next season: How sure are you that he's still alive?
