It's not unusual for stars to see the inside of prison cells, and the latest one to add to the list is Dustin Diamond from "Saved By The Bell."

The actor was sentenced by residing Judge Paul Malloy to four months in jail and up to 15 months probation for stabbing a man during a brawl on Christmas Day last year, as reported by the Associated Press. In another report, this time from TMZ, it was also noted that Diamond has also been barred from returning to the scene of the crime, and is not allowed to contact the victim of the stabbing. He was also said to have been ordered to pay the victim $1,105 in restitution.

The altercation started when a woman bumped into the actor's girlfriend, eventually becoming an all-out bar fight. Reports from Denver Post noted that witnesses testified against Diamond's girlfriend, Amanda Schutz. According to eyewitness accounts cited by the outlet, Schutz pushed a woman at the bar and grabbed the hand of another, thereby initiating the brawl that caused an injury. Convicted of disorderly conduct, Schutz was fined $500.

Diamond said at his hearing, "I sincerely apologize to everyone involved. This was the single most terrifying experience of my life... This is all I've been able to think about for the last six months."

However, the stabbing was not the only misdemeanor in connection to the fight. The Associated Press added that earlier in June, Diamond was also convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and for disorderly conduct. On the (sort of) bright side, he was cleared of the charge of recklessly endangering public safety.

There was also the issue during the trial when Ozaukee County district attorney Adam Gerol said that Diamond scripted his testimony. While the actor told jurors that he took out a knife to ward off people and accidentally stabbed a man, a body-camera footage of Diamond's statements first showed the actor to have said that he might have struck the man with a pen. Later, he changed his story, saying that he had a knife, but didn't use it to stab anyone.

Since his role as Screech, Diamond has already had several run-ins with the law. The Denver Post recalled that he had delinquent taxes and missed mortgage payments. Other decisions didn't fare so well either, including his involvement in a sex tape scandal. He also produced a tell-all documentary called "The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story," which is about the show that gave him his most iconic role to date.
