Though Microsoft has made it a point to never divulge information prematurely about their upcoming new devices, some rumors still emerged particularly because details about them are simply mouth-watering.

According to the International Business Times, the Microsoft-Nokia tandem would soon introduce the new Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL.

Lumia 940 will sport some upgrades from its predecessor, the 2014 Lumia 930, particularly in terms of display, processor, memory, and battery upon its expected released during the second or third quarter of 2015.

The Lumia 940 XL, on the other hand, would also feature the same upgrades but with a larger screen and body as well as top-of-the-line camera technology, says Softpedia News.

Outer Beauty: Display, Size and Colors

In terms of display, both the Lumia 940 and the 940 XL would sport a QHD display, meaning it would have a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.

Of course, their sizes would differ with the Lumia 940 having a 5.2-inch screen while its larger sister would be sporting a 5.7-inch display when measured diagonally.,

In a three-dimensional description provided by Softpedia News, the phone is designed to be very thin with a 6.8 mm or 0.26 inch profile compared to past Nokia Windows phones.

Mobile Soul: Processor and OS

As an upgrade from the Lumia 930's Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno 330 GPU tandem, the new Lumia 940 would be manufactured with the more powerful Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808, while 904 XL would be powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor, both with Adreno 430 GPU.

To non-techies, this means a faster reaction and processing of the user command with no or limited hiccups along the way since both would be manufactured with a 3GB RAM and Microsoft's latest Windows 10 Mobile as its operating system.

Selfie Opportunity: Camera

According to KPopStarz.com, the new Lumia phones would be sporting an amazing 20-megapixel Carl Zeiss rear camera and a 5MP front snapper that would allow users to capture images with 4992 х 3744 pixels.

Not only that, these phones would also be equipped with optical image stabilization, PureView technology, an autofocus, dual LED flash, dual capture, geo-tagging and face detection features to make capturing precious memories and lovely selfies even more enjoyable.

Storage: Memory Size

Unlike other leading smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 940 would not have a memory card slot to expand its memory, KPopStarz.com reported.

However, Lumia 940 users would not need this feature so much since the phone would be manufactured with a built-in memory of 32 GB, similar to premium phones from leading companies like Apple and Samsung.

Device Life: Battery Capacity

Of course, users will not fully enjoy these wonderful features if it does not have enough battery capacity to power the device.

According to the International Business Times, Lumia 940 would be powered by a staggering 3,000mAh Li-Ion battery while Lumia 940 XL would have 3,300mAh to match.
