There are rumors that Samsung would soon release a handset called the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, an upgraded version of the company's flagship this year.

The device is believed to go against Apple's recent release, the iPhone 6 Plus. But how will this upcoming handset fair with the mighty Apple phone? Below is a comparison of the two:

Display

Phone Arena said the S6 Edge Plus will have a dimension of 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85 mm and a 5.5-inch display. This is reportedly a taller and wider version of the S6 Edge, which is 142.1 x 70.1 x 7 mm.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 Plus has a dimension of 158.1mm x 77.8 mm x 7.1 mm and a 5.5 inch display, according to the Apple website. It also has a LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will reportedly be powered by a hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor instead of using the company's own Exynos Octa 7420. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus was released with an A8 chip and an M8 motion coprocessor. This chipset, according to Apple, is the fastest the company has released.

"Its CPU and graphics performance are faster than on the A7 chip, even while powering a larger display and incredible new features," read the description on Apple's website.

Storage

Geeky Gadgets said the upcoming S6 Edge Plus will have 3 GB of RAM and could have storage options of 32GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

For the iPhone 6 Plus, it came with a 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants.

Camera

As for the camera, the S6 Edge Plus will reportedly come with a 16 megapixel rear shooter and a 5 megapixel front facing camera, as per Geeky Gadgets.

The Apple handset, meanwhile, has an 8-megapixel iSight camera with autofocus. It also has optical image stabilization and improved face detection.

Price

There is still no definite price for the S6 Edge Plus but it is estimated to cost more than the S6 Edge. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, is priced from $299.99 to $749.76.

Other features

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, according to GSM Arena, comes with an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, wireless charging, Smart Stay, OneDrive (115 GB cloud storage), active noise cancellation with dedicated mic and S-Voice natural language commands and dictation. This S Voice feature will reportedly recognize voice commands of users "right away" and can launch phone applications in seconds.

Fans could be seeing a great phone in the coming months with the S6 Edge Plus especially that it is rumored to come with features ready to level that of the powerful iPhone 6 Plus.
