The death of Robin Williams shook the world. After all, he was the man who gave many so much laughter through his films, and for his life to end the way it did, it was a painful reality to take, not just for his loved ones, but for his fans who supported him through his career.

But before his untimely demise, Williams was shooting a film, and it will soon grace the big screens where fans can offer a final hat tip to the comedy legend.

Unfortunately, it won't be one with laughter. As People Magazine noted, the trailer of Williams' last onscreen performance has just been released, and it was made to tug at our heartstrings.

The film titled, "Boulevard," is about a lonely, closeted man trapped in a "monotonous life and crumbling marriage," who turns his life around after an encounter with a young hitchhiker.

The film, helmed by Dito Montiel also stars Kathy Baker, Bob Odenkirk, and Roberto Aguire. The screenplay was written by Douglas Soesbe, and produced b Monica Aguirre Diez Barroso, Ryan Belenzon, Mia Chang, and Jeffrey Gelber.

Williams' performance in the film was noted to be one of his best.

Film critic Peter Debruge wrote about Williams's performance, "This is one of the kindest characters Williams has ever played, which makes his self-imposed turmoil - the consequence of not wanting to hurt anyone, least of all his wife - all the more tragic."

In a statement in April, producer Monica Aguirre Diez Barroso said, "Through 'Boulevard,' Dito was able to capture Robin Williams at his best, and we couldn't believe more in the team helping us share this piece of his legacy with audiences."

Kevin Kasha, head of acquisitions for Starz (the company holding the distribution rights for the film), also said, "'Boulevard' is a complex, life-affirming and surprising film and Robin's final performance is absolutely remarkable."

While "Boulevard" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, it is set for a July 10 showing in the U.S. It will be Williams' first film to be released since his death last August, and at the same time, it will be the last movie shown with the actor in his element. However, The Hollywood Reporter noted that he is also featured in a sci-fi comedy film called "Absolutely Anything," where he voiced a dog. It will be released in the U.S. on May 5, 2016.
