What happens when your biggest challenge as a teenager is just the tip of the iceberg, and more danger awaits you at the end of the line?
A new poster for "The Maze Runner 2: Scorch Trials" has just been released by producer Wyck Godfrey via Twitter with a visually stunning view of the Gladers crossing canyons from fallen buildings of the city.

According to Hypable, the interesting photo paints a "metaphorical picture," where the ruined city is serving as a bridge across the canyons, indicating that help may not be too far away. There is also the possibility that the Gladers' survival could be behind the walls of the city.
Of course, book readers already know what's going to happen and could probably decipher the meaning of the poster, unless the PR Team just thought it was a cool shot.
In the first installment of the series, Movie Pilot noted that the Gladers found themselves inside a maze that they had no idea how to get out of. When they finally do, they were saved only to find a dismal world that they must live in. In that thought, life at the Maze - where they had food, water, and shelter for the most part, things seemed easier than living through the Scorch, where there's no semblance of safety and security.
While book readers already have the edge about what the film is going to have in store, Director Wes Ball spoke about the film on Empire Online, and he's sure that there's going to be surprises for everyone. He said, "We didn't approach this as a straight adaptation of the second book. We approached it more as using the same ingredients but using slightly different recipe. So things from the first book end up in the second movie, and there are things in the second book we're saving for a third movie."
Filming has already wrapped up, and it should be a relief for the young cast because the seemingly dehydrating journey seen on the posters translate to grueling stunts. According to MTV, filming on-set became a challenge for the cast, and actress Kaya Scodelario said that they were hired because they look like typical teenagers, rather than superheroes. She even admitted, "I don't like exercising at all, and they kind of push me to do it. I look at Dylan and Ki-Hong and think, 'If they can do it, I can do it, too.'"
"The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" will premiere in theaters on September 18.
