Android 4.4.1 KitKat recently started hitting the airwaves, but it looks like Google has already started pushing out Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The upgrade is now rolling out over the air for Nexus devices.

Android 4.4.2, version KOT49H, isn't a game changer over Android 4.4.1, but it does bring some bug fixes that should smoothen out the overall Android experience. Owners of the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013 models), and Nexus 10 should all be receiving download notifications soon enough, and while there is no official changelog from Google, Sprint has clarified the following improvements on its support page for the Nexus 5:

" - Fix for clearing the VM Indicator

- Fix for delivery of the VM Indicator

- Various additional software fixes

- Security enhancements"

Google Nexus 5 owners benefit the most from Android 4.4.1 and Android 4.4.2 as the new firmwares bring drastic improvements to the smartphone's camera.

"It improves the camera with faster focusing, especially in low light, faster white balancing, for truer colors, the ability to pinch-zoom the viewfinder in HDR+ mode and less shutter lag," Google says about the new firmware.

Those too impatient to wait for the over-the-air notification can go ahead and download the update manually through the following links. As usual, download and flash at your own risk, and if you don't have previous experience tinkering with Android, you might be best off waiting for the over-the-air version.

Android 4.4.2 download links for the: Nexus 5, Nexus 4, 2012 Wi-Fi Nexus 7, 2013 Wi-Fi Nexus 7, 2013 LTE Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.
