The time has come: "Game of Thrones" fans - series-watchers and book readers - are on the same page. Nobody can lord it over and say "well, according to the book..." because as of the fifth season's finale, everyone is on the same boat as Jon Snow: You know nothing.

Speaking of Jon Snow, his shocking death scarred many of the fans, however, like every person going through grief, fans are still in denial - he has to come back next season, right?

Fortunately, if production follows the timeline, you still have about ten months to go through all stages of grief, because according to showrunner Dan Weiss in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Dead is dead."

Weiss provided more clarification on Jon's brutal and untimely death. He said, "We would hope that after seeing the scene and the way it's shot that the answer to that will be unambiguous in the minds of the people watching it."

"It's not an, 'Oh what just happened?' scene," he added.

Kit Harington, who portrayed Snow, also remarked on his character's death in a separate interview with the site, saying, "I've been told I'm dead . I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season."

However, in 2011, author George R.R. Martin gave an intriguing statement about Jon Snow's death.

"If there's one thing we know in A Song of Ice and Fire is that death is not necessarily permanent," the author told Entertainment Weekly.

If that's the case, then there may be a possibility that Jon Snow is still alive in some way, although he probably won't have the gloriousness of Kit Harington's rugged good looks.

One of the main theories about Jon's character is that he could be warged with his direwolf, Ghost. While this cannot be confirmed, it has been noted that Jon's half-brother, Bran, displayed this ability in season 5, something that he did to preserve his spirit.

Another theory, as noted by TV Line, is that he can be revived by Melisandre, who conveniently arrived at the Wall by the end of the season finale. In previous seasons, followers of the Lord of Light have the ability to resurrect the dead, something that Arya witnessed in one of her travels in the earlier seasons.

This could also mean that if Jon Snow will be revived (and producers and Harington were giving fans slingers to throw them off-course) he may be the Prince That Was Promised or Azor Ahai, or The Last Hero. As noted by iDigital Times, the prophecy in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series calls for a myth that, after being killed, the Prince That Was Promised would be reborn, amidst salt and smoke, with a flaming sword named Lightbringer.
