As reported by TwitchFilm, the plot synopsis for "The Green Ghost" reads: "A 'gringo' raised by a Latino family, discovers that they're all superheroes. Now he must fulfill his destiny and fight alongside them, against their powerful enemies."

Production for the film had locations across Texas, including Lockhart, South Padre Island, and Brownsville, Valley Central reported. Mutt Productions, which is owned by Aaron Lopez, serve as the project's producer. The production company is known for funding lower budget films.

A casting call near Austin for extras was posted last fall, The Monitor wrote. Casting directors looked for talents to portray businessmen aged 21 to 70, as well as Hispanic talents who are aged 20 to 60 to play Mexican immigrants, Auditions Free added.

Lopez, who also produced the project, said that they are pushing for "The Green Ghost" to open into as many theaters as possible. According to him, the film will likely open in theaters in South Texas and Southern California, Valley Central noted.

"We put this project together for him," Lopez said about making the movie for Clark, as reported by the news outlet. "We are talking with distribution companies."

IMDB published a more detailed synopsis of "The Green Ghost." According to the Internet movie database, Charlie was raised by Nana alongside her own grandson, Marco. The old woman taught Charlie and Marco how to make tortillas and speak Spanish. Nana and Marco, however, secretly protects the powerful Emeralds which gives superhuman abilities once it comes into contact with humans. Together, the two have to hide the Emeralds from the witch Lechusa.

Trejo, one of the stars of "The Green Ghost," recently opened a Mexican restaurant called "Trejo's Tacos," NBC News reported. The Los Angeles-based restaurant is expected to open to the public sometime in the spring and promises to serve "the best tacos and craft beer," according to their Facebook page.

Aside from "The Green Ghost," Trejo also has a role on the second season of "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" as The Regulator, Entertainment Weekly reported. The 10-episode second series from Robert Rodriguez is currently in production in Austin, Texas.
