Philadelphia 76ers forward Thaddeus Young has a strong desire to remain with the Philadelphia 76ers despite talks about a potential trade to the Houston Rockets for disgruntled center Omer Asik.

Asik, who has been on the trading block since the 2013-14 NBA season started, is reportedly being eyed by the 76ers, who will definitely need to include Young in any deal involving the Rockets center.

When asked about the trade rumor, Young said that he is not thinking about it, but he sounded ready for any turn of events in the next few weeks.

"It is what it is. Just taking it day by day," Young told The Delaware Country Times. "I'm not worried about a trade or anything like that. It's a business. If it happens, it happens. I just have to live with it, keep moving on it."

The 25-year-old versatile forward, who is playing in his seventh season in the league, added that he is not bothered by the trade talks, saying that he is focused on helping the 76ers win games.

"I'm focused," Young reiterated. "Not hard to keep focused. It's basketball. It's our job. It's how we make our living. It's how we make our money. It's how we feed our families. At the end of the day, it is what it is if it happens. There's nothing I can do about it. I definitely love Philly and want to continue being here. If they see fit to trade me, hey, my time is up. I have to move on."

The financial aspects of the possible trade should still be ironed out if the 76ers and the Rockets agree to a deal. Young is making $8.6 million this season, while Asik is earning $5.2 million this season.

However, one possible hurdle is the backloaded contract of Asik, who is set to make $14.9 million in the 2014-15 NBA season. The 76ers have room to absorb that amount, but the rebuilding team's capability of making a big splash in free agency next summer will be very limited.
