Based from latest news reports, the expected Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus will be released, but it will be called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Note.
According to Christian Today, Samsung has been long rumored to release a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge and will reportedly be a product behind its Project Zero 2. The same report added that the premium handset had its name recently trademarked by the company.
The upcoming device will reportedly come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. Christian Today added that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Note will be powered by a 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.
A similar Times of India article added that the design of the phone could feature "an Edge-style curved screen," an appearance which will make it a lot different than the Galaxy Note 5.
"It will indeed have the distinctive curved edges of the Galaxy S6 Edge and it's going to come with Android 5.1.1 out of the box."
The device is rumored to be launched on the third quarter of the year though Samsung has not yet confirmed the reports.
However, Phone Arena said that the Android 5.1.1 update will not come with the support for RAW photography which has been much anticipated by Samsung fans.
"Given that support for RAW photography was baked right in vanilla Android starting with 5.0 Lollipop, it's strange to see Samsung not bringing the feature - a highly-regarded one by smartphone photography enthusiasts - with Android 5.0 or Android 5.1," added Phone Arena.
An earlier PhoneArena article mentioned that the device, which was formerly tagged as the S6 Plus, will be similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge but will likely sport a larger screen.
"Minor interface tweaks are also expected, judging by the images of the device that have been leaked so far," added the same report.
Yibada detailed that the S6 Plus will come with a 16 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front-facing shooter, perfect for taking photos outdoors and indoors and also selfie images.
PC Advisor said that there has been no released information on the price of the phone, but it noted that it could be valued at around $1,080, adding that it may also include an S Pen stylus, which is normally found on the Note series though this is still being debated online.
The same report explained that the price could reach this high because the phone will "look like a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge."
Incorporating the supposed to be S6 Plus into the Note series could prove to be a wise move for Samsung as it would interest readers on what to expect with the device.
