Now that the July 29 release date of Windows 10 is looming, some are wondering if the operating system will come with a new device in tow. Several reports are claiming that Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 will also come out in the same day as the brand-new OS.
The Surface Pro 3 got good reviews in the market, so it's natural that users are expecting its successor to have upgrades and improvements.
Listed below are the latest rumors and speculations about the Surface Pro 4. These are all unconfirmed at the moment and Microsoft is yet to issue an official announcement.
Design & Display
BGR claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will come in bearing a 12-inch display with 2160 x 1440 pixels of resolution, which is the same screen display as the Surface Pro 3. Other sources, however, say that the hybrid device will have a 4K screen display, Inquisitr noted.
In comparison, the Surface Pro 3 is thinner and lighter than its predecessors. CNET describes its keyboard cover as "best-in-class," with a kickstand making it easier to set up and use the device. Engadget, however, said that Type Cover keyboard of the Surface Pro 3 is the biggest problem of the gadget.
"It's tough to say who should buy the Surface Pro 3 as a laptop alternative when the very thing that makes it a notebook replacement - its optional keyboard - offers a subpar typing experience and a frustrating trackpad," the news outlet said.
Processor & OS
Vine Report wrote that the Surface Pro 4 will be powered by the Intel Core M Broadwell chip, which could allow a fan-less and silent operation capable of reducing noise. The news outlet noted that Microsoft's initial plan was to equip the device with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor for a more efficient energy.
As for its operating system, it is expected that the Surface Pro 4 will run using Windows 10.
Memory Storage
Modern Readers claimed that the hybrid device will have up to 16 GB of RAM with 1 TB worth of on-board storage. The Surface Pro 4 is said to have 128GB, 256GB, and 500GB memory variants.
Price & Release Date
Modern Readers estimated that the Surface Pro 4 will be priced between $1,200 and $2,000. Fans of Microsoft's products should wait whether the device will launch alongside Windows 10.
There are also claims that the Surface Pro 4 will release alongside the tech giant's Lumia 940 and 940 XL. Master Herald reported that the tech giant is planning to launch 4 million units of the Surface Pro 4 when it finally rolls out.
