After a recent revelation on her violent behavior towards her family members, court documents now disclose that soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo's history of violence dated back since her high school days.

In an initial report, TMZ said that documents filed way back in 1998 showed that the then senior high school student Solo badly harassed and bullied another student, which ended up with her receiving a temporary restraining order.

The same article noted that the accuser of Solo claimed that she was tormented for more than a year and that it ended with a brutal attack at a fair.

"She punched me in the cheek. Then she said, 'I f**kin hate you, you fat ass whore!' and punched me two more times. Once in the eye and once in the mouth," detailed the TMZ source.

The aggrieved person said she reported the incident to the authorities and a local judge issued the TRO against her with a requirement for her to stay at least 300 feet from the said student for a year.

New York Daily News said this old incident came after a few behavioral problems marred her life and career leading to domestic violence charges and her throwing expletives at her arresting officers.

An ESPN report said that Solo was "combative" and "had to be forced to the ground" when she was being booked for her domestic violence charge.

The report claimed that she even uttered to one of his arresting officers, "You're such a b----. You're scared of me because you know that if the handcuffs were off, I'd kick your ass."

A similar USA Today report noted that Solo's case has already been dismissed on procedural grounds, but she has not yet been cleared as there is still an appeal made by the prosecutors with the Superior Court of Washington.

In a recent development, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal wrote to U.S. Soccer president Suni Gulati, criticising how Solo's case was investigated, as per Yahoo Sports.

"I urge U.S. Soccer to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident - an inquiry that includes a comprehensive review of police reports and interviews of the alleged victims. In the interim, U.S. Soccer should at least articulate an explanation for Hope Solo's position as an active member of Team USA. As boys and girls tune in to Friday's game, watching the women on TV as role models, what is the message of starting Hope Solo at goal?" the senator's letter to Gulati noted.

He said that domestic violence and that which happen within the family are already common in the U.S. society.

"Regardless of whether the violence is a man striking a woman, a woman striking a man, or same-sex violence, it is unacceptable. Domestic violence is intolerable particularly for an athlete representing the United States of America on the global stage," added Blumenthal.
