Starz' "Outlander" keeps expanding its cast roster. Just recently, several sources, including Entertainment Weekly, reported that Rosie Day, Andrew Gower, and Romann Berrux will have roles in Season 2.

Day will portray Mary Hawkins, the daughter of a minor baronet and the niece of Silas Hawkins. Mary, who has a nervous stuttering problem, is engaged to a French noble and will discover that she is being used by her family to gain power, the news outlet added.

Gower is Prince Charles Edward Stuart, the heir to an exiled Catholic royal dynasty who is also planning to make a comeback to the throne. Berrux plays Fergus, a young French pickpocket who is faithful to the Fraser family, Entertainment Weekly wrote.

Dominique Piñon will play the mysterious Master Raymond for Season 2, which is reported by TV Line as a "healer with a great deal of knowledge regarding secret matters, both political and occult." The French actor's character will form a special bond with Caitriona Balfe's Claire Randall.

Aside from these, E! News reported last week that Stanley Weber and Robert Cavanagh are joining the second season of "Outlander" as Le Comte St. Germain and Jared Fraser, respectively. The former works for the French court and is said to be dabbling on the occult. According to Access Hollywood, Jared is a strong Jacobite and the cousin of Sam Heughan's Jamie Fraser. Jamie and Claire will reside in Jared's mansion in France and will assist in managing his businesses.

Season 1's finale saw Jamie's repeated rape and emotional torture at the hands of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), whose demise was brought upon by Murtagh Fraser (Duncan Lacroix). Speaking to TV Line about the series, "Outlander" creator and executive producer Ronald D. Moore revealed that Jamie's abuse will have huge repercussions on the character as the series progresses.

"The reverberations of this will echo throughout the second season in the relationship, his development as a character and how he deals with certain story points," Moore told TV Line.

As for Jamie and Claire's venture into France for Season 2, Moore said that the duo will encounter a whole new different world than the one they departed, Scotland.

"They're going to Paris, and they're going to be dealing with the French aristocracy," he explained to the news outlet. "It's going to be a whole different tone, a whole different...playing the story as much more political. We're dealing with the Jacobite Rebellion. It's much more about deception, and lies within lies, and the gossips and the surroundings of Paris."

Moore assured that Season 2 will be different than its predecessor, adding that one of the show's strengths is its "continuing evolution," TV Line reported. He said that Jamie is familiar with French culture because of his cousin, but Claire will adapt differently, given that she is still adjusting to the roles placed on women in that era.

"Outlander" returns for its second season in 2016.
