Sometimes, we may have thought of commercial ads as boring, and their jingles just too chintzy.
But maybe, all it takes to change this thinking is to get one's creative juice flowing. Musician and YouTube user Grant Woolard, for instance, has done a masterful job of creating a mashup based on various commercial products' jingles, as cited by Yahoo News. The guy has successfully woven together 25 of these melodic themes, and guess what -- he nailed it.
Grant called his masterpiece the "Commercial Jingle Counterpoint." He decided to play with the jingles of commercial products such as McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Folger's, Kit Kat, Band-Aid and State Farm, as told by TheFW.com. Other classic tunes included are those of Mentos, Old Spice and Intel.
From the video's thumbnail alone, one can see how the musician poured his creativity -- showing off his piano skills through the use of a french fries container, a box of Rice Roni, a can of SpaghettiOs and a pair of baby back ribs.
Grant's work has been viewed more than 160,000 times already -- and counting. His audience listened in awe and could not help but express their admiration for him.
"This is probably one the most clever things I've seen all year, not to even mention how masterfully executed the whole thing was," one commenter going by the moniker AgentMidnight reviewed.
While some of the jingles may not ring a bell to many, specially to those outside of the U.S. and those preceding millenials, there's no denying that these commercial jingle mashup makes for one catchy piano arrangement.
And for those intending to take Grant's lead by trying to come up with your own version of commercial products-based piano arrangement, just make sure you wipe the keyboard clean afterwards (or simply stay clear from using baby back ribs altogether).
Either the guy's got too much time on his hands, or he just loves taking things to the next level. Grant also came up with other clever and amusing musical arrangements. He was able to combine the national anthems of Germany, Canada, France, the U.K., Spain, and the U.S. into one musical piece, and contrive to make a Beatles love mashup.
You can also check out this cool video where he used different items to play with the keyboard. Interestingly, the objects he used were those mentioned from the 22 songs he mashed up -- Lady Gaga's "Telephone," Lil Wayne's "Mirror," Rihanna's "Umbrella," Bruno Mars' "Grenade" and "Rubber Ducky" by Ernie from Sesame Street, among others. How cool is that!
