Video game "Dark Souls 3" will reportedly be announced by Bandai Namco at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 this coming June 16–18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

A VG247 source relayed this information noting that this announcement will surely delight fans of the game and its series, since "Demon's Souls," "Dark Souls" and "Bloodborne" director Hidetaka Miyazaki will be leading the game-developing team. Miyazaki is tagged as the father of the "Souls" series, and he has even assumed a higher supervisory role for "Dark Souls 2."

Polygon reports that since all the games of the series have been met with positive response from fans, a similar reaction is expected for the upcoming iteration.

An expansion for "Bloodborne" is also reportedly in the works with Sony's Shuhei Yoshida telling Forbes that it may come out later this year.

"The Souls games have made a name for themselves for their uncompromising difficulty, barely toeing that line between impossible and challenging," Forbes added before noting that it is an understatement to say that gamers responded positively to the series.

Meanwhile, fans are hoping that some changes would be incorporated in the game, like additional east Asian weapons, in-game chat and the ability to taunt while moving, as discussed in GameFAQs.

Another user in the NeoGAF discussion thread said that it would be better if the new game will have mixed ideas from other "Souls" games just like what the developers did to the current release.

"A 'lateral' move that maintains a similar feel but doesn't keep more of the old design than it needs to, more connected/online elements and more of a continuous Metroid/Castlevania world, or a non-linear series of semi-linear levels," the user's wishlist continued.

According to another NeoGAF user named Bediam, "Dark Souls 3" would be better if it had fewer bonfires and less warping just like the first instalment of the series.

"And make no mistake guys, just because there is 'Bloodborne' doesn't mean there won't be another DS. That second team has to work on something and Dark Souls has become way too valuable as a brand for From Software. They won't abandon that franchise anytime soon," wrote Bediam.

A Metro report noted that if "Dark Souls" will be announced this month and released a few years after, it would still seem surprising.

"Although since publisher Bandai Namco had nothing to do with 'Bloodborne' you can certainly imagine they'd want to get started on a new game as soon as possible," added Metro.

As of writing, many gamers are already excited to find out what can be discovered in the new game that is different from "Dark Souls 2," which  primarily revolved around a male or female undead human known as the "Bearer of the Curse."
