Rumored to be released as early as next month, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to be way better than its predecessor and maintain Surface Pro's aim to produce devices which will replace both laptops and touch tablets.

According to Tech Radar, the Surface Pro 4 will surely be an upgrade from the Pro 3 since Microsoft has decided to incorporate Windows 10 to the upcoming device. The same report added that once it becomes available in the market, it will cost between $880 and $1990.

Since it will be running on Windows 10, Microsoft said fans can expect that the device will be familiar and easy to use. The new Windows will bring back the Start Menu, with the addition of pinned apps and other favorites.

"It starts up and resumes fast, has more built-in security to help keep you safe, and is designed to work with software and hardware you already have," Microsoft added of Windows 10.

Crossmap has learned that the Surface Pro 4 will be released in three variants: one with a 14-inch display, another with a 12-inch display and and another with an 8-inch display— the third one is expected to go head-to-head with the Apple iPad Mini.

The upcoming device is also rumored to come with an N-Trig surface pen. According to Digital Trends, this stylus pen writes "very smoothly and the tablet responds to every line in record time."

A similar Gospel Herald report added that the Pro 4 will have a 64GB in-built storage with expandable memory of up to 128GB, 256GB and 500GB.

The Pro 4 is also expected to share similarities with the Pro 3, as per Microsoft's Surface general manager Brian Hall.

"We are pleased to share that the following Surface Pro 3 accessories are designed with our product roadmap in mind and will be compatible with the next generation of the 'Pro' line of Surface: Surface Pro 3 Type Covers, "infrastructure" accessories such as our power adapter, Ethernet adapter and  the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station," Hall said.

This commitment helps validate an investment in Surface Pro 3 and solidifies Microsoft's overall commitment to the continued growth of the Surface brand," he added.

Meanwhile, Alphr reports that in terms of design, fans should not expect major changes from the Surface Pro 4 compared to the Surface Pro 3. Nevertheless, the upcoming device may sport a slimmer build, while all of the other aspects are bound to remain the same.

Alphr noted that the Surface Pro 3 was highly acclaimed, tagging it as a perfect replacement for a laptop. Hence, fans are hoping that the Pro 4 will be the hybrid that can perfectly replace both laptops and tablets.
