Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S2: Release Date, Specs, Features & Price Roundup [Rumors]

We compiled the latest rumors and speculations about the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Note that these are all unconfirmed for now and official news from the tech giants are yet to be announced.

Design & Display

Ecumenical News claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will have 2K screen resolution, while The REM reported that the device will have two variants: a version with a 12-inch screen and one with 14 inches.

As for the Galaxy Tab S2, tipster OnLeaks shared photos of what he claimed to be the case of the device. Check out the images here. The silicone protector seems to be intended for the larger 9.7-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S2.

International Business Times reported that aside from the 9.7 version, the Galaxy Tab S2 will also come in at a smaller 8-inch type, with both variants sporting 1,536 x 2,048 pixels screen resolution.

NWE, on the other hand, claimed that the Galaxy Tab S2 will be released in four variants: 8.0-inch display + Wi-Fi, 8.0-inch display + 4G LTE, 9.7-inch display + Wi-Fi, and 9.7-inch display + 4G LTE.

Camera

The Surface Pro is said to have a 3.5-megapixel front camera and a primary camera coming in at 8 megapixels, Ecumenical News noted.

As for the Galaxy Tab S2, a primary camera with 8 MP is expected along with a 2.1 front facing shooter, International Business Times added.

Processor, RAM, Storage, & Battery

According to Ecumenical News, the Surface Pro 4 is likely to be powered by Intel's Broadwell chipset. For its storage, the device is said to have 16 GB memory and 1 TB internal drive space.

International Business Times said that the Galaxy Tab S2 will be powered by Samsung's own 64-bit Exynos chip and an octa-core processor. A 3 GB RAM space is expected, as well as up to 32 GB internal storage capacity.

Operating System

The Surface Pro could have Windows 10 as its OS, The REM noted. The operating system is also said to be included in the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL.

The Galaxy Tab S2, in contrast, will run using the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, International Business Times said.

Price

Venture Capital Post speculated that the Surface Pro 4 will be priced between $1200 and $2000, while the Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to have a price tag starting at $399, according to Tech Radar.

Release Date

Venture Capital Post reported that the Surface Pro 4 could be released alongside the Windows 10 in July. If this doesn't push through, Vine Report said that the device could come out in August or September.

For the Galaxy Tab S2, International Business Times wrote that it could be released this month.
