After Kim Kardashian had baby North almost two years ago, the reality TV star admitted that she found it hard to conceive for the second time.

The couple didn't give up and Kim recently announced that she's finally expecting baby number two.

Several reports claim that Kim got pregnant through In Vitro Fertilization procedure and as a result, two of Kim's eggs have been fertilized, which means Kim and Kanye could be expecting twins, according to NY Daily News. The outlet's source said that Kim "is waiting to see if they both 'stick' before she makes any kind of announcement."

A risky pregnancy

If it's true, Kim and Kanye could be preparing for a high-risk delivery, according to PEOPLE magazine. Kim had major complications during her pregnancy with her first child, and with the second pregnancy, the couple is reportedly expecting the same.

An insider told PEOPLE mag, "It's been a long road, and they are just so thankful to the doctors because they said she would never conceive again."

This pregnancy could also be Kim's last. She already had a dangerous delivery due to preeclampsia, a harmful condition where a woman's blood pressure increases during the course of her pregnancy. She was also said to have been afflicted with placenta accreta, wherein her blood vessels grow into, and remain attached on the uterine wall.

In fact, according to PEOPLE mag's source, "Kim also had three surgeries to repair her uterus. The inner lining had been so damaged that she was told conceiving on her own wasn't possible."

'I love being a mom'

At the CFDA Awards, Kim shared her experience about her second pregnancy, telling Us Weekly, "To be honest, I've had really bad morning sickness, day sickness, night sickness - I can barely get out of bed... It's a very different type of pregnancy from my first one, but I'm so grateful to be pregnant when we didn't even think it was going to happen for us [so] I don't care how sick I am." 

However, her exhaustion is all worth it, considering the lengths she and Kanye had to go through to have a second child.

Kim spoke about motherhood through Romy and The Bunnies blog, and she gushed about her experience shortly after giving birth to North. "I love being a mom. It's the most rewarding feeling! I really love every phase! Just the way my daughter laughs with me, all of the small things in life you appreciate!"
