The latest rumors and speculations have come in for Apple's iPad Air 3. Also dubbed as iPad 7, the tablet is ripe with reports claiming about its release date, specifications, and new features.

We compiled the rumors currently circulating around the iPad Air 3. Note that these are unconfirmed at the moment and an official announcement from the tech giant is yet to be had.

Design

Citing reports, Venture Capital Post wrote that that iPad Air 3 or iPad 7 will be thinner than its predecessor. The news outlet noted that the tablet is expected to come in at 9.7 inches and 6.1 mm thick.

International Business Times said that the iPad Air 3 could have waterproof and dustproof exterior.

Specs & Features

The iPad Air 3 is also said to have iOS 9 as its operating system, with the A9 processor providing power to the tablet, Venture Capital Post claimed. A 4K screen resolution is expected, along with 2 GB of RAM space. Pixel density is at 401 ppi, which is similar to the one the iPhone 6 Plus has, CrossMap reported.

Expert Reviews claimed that the iPad Air 3 will have a full quad-core processor and 64-bit hardware for improved power. The tablet could also have Apple's new battery technology which "allows for slices of battery to be layered on top of each other in a staggered manner in order to make the most of the curved edges of the chassis," the news outlet noted. 

Bloomberg previously reported that Samsung will manufacture A9 processors for Apple's products. This deal will help the South Korean tech giant to regain the customers they lost to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.

For its camera, there are expectations that additional features will be included in the iPad Air 3's shooter. Last year, Apple upgraded the traditional 5 MP rear-facing iSight camera of the iPad Air 2 into 8 megapixels, International Business Times pointed out.

The iPad Air 2's camera was also equipped with burst mode, panorama, slow-motion feature, time-lapse, and timer mode. These upgrades are expected to be included in the iPad Air 3 as well, though users should not expect any megapixel count enhancement this time around, Mac World said.

Price

Mac World claimed that Apple's new tablet will be priced similarly to the iPad Air 2 when it was released last year. This means that the variant with 16 GB storage and Wi-Fi connectivity will be sold at $612, the 64 GB version at $734, and the 128 GB at $857.

Release Date

According to Venture Capital Post, there's a huge possibility that the iPad Air 3 will be released in November 2015. This is in accordance to the timeframe Apple usually follows when it comes to unveiling their latest products, which is always before the Christmas season begins. This strategy attracts consumers to purchase the tech giant's gadgets as Christmas gifts.
