After the new flagship Lumia 940 recently made an appearance on GFXBench with its rumoured specifications, mobile fans are excited to find out how it will perform compared to the Nokia Lumia 930.

Here are a few comparisons of the two devices for people wanting to find out more about them:

Display

According to TechTimes, the Lumia 940 will feature a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD. This is an upgrade to the Lumia 930's 5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels, as per GSM Arena.

Platform

TechTimes also noted that the Lumia 940 will run on a 64-bit hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. Meanwhile, Microsoft's Lumia 930 is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.

Memory

SoftPedia added that the upcoming device will have a 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is almost the same with Lumia 930's 2 GB RAM and 32GB mass storage.

Camera

Additionally, TechTimes reports that the Lumia 940 will feature a 20-megapixel Pureview main camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter best for selfies and video conversations. The 930 boasts a similar 20MP camera with autofocus and two-stage capture key. Its front-facing camera is only 1.2MP, definitely lower than that of the upcoming device.

Release Date and Price

The Lumia 930 became available in the market in July last year and PC Advisor states that the Lumia 940 will come out later this summer with a price tag expected to be higher than $765. During its initial release, the 930 was available for $736.

Design

PhonesReview discussed that the new Lumia 940 will have 5mm edges and a thickness of 8.5mm.

"It's a fairly narrow handset that has an amount of curvature, and there's a rectangular camera area on the reverse that looks to have glass protection. To the bottom of the rear casing there's a speaker, and it seems to have a metal frame, although the whole casing could possibly be metallic," added PhonesReview.

The upcoming device will also reportedly have the usual Windows Phone capacitive buttons but will come with a nano sim card slot and USB Type C connector.

TechRadar, in its review of the Lumia 930, said that the phone has a metallic rim and polycarbonate material which made the design of the smartphone look stronger. The phone also has a light grey exterior and has a dimension of 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.39 inches weighing 167 g.

With the comparison of the two devices, it can be observed that the Lumia 940 is a promising phone to watch out for especially for those who love the Lumia 930.

The new instalment is not lightyears away from the current release but it does promise some great improvements and developments. Many people are already anticipating its release to see if these rumored specifications will really be incorporated in the device.
