Samsung will allegedly roll out a Android 5.1.1 updates to Galaxy Note 4 users amid reports last week that Google is almost ready to unveil their latest operating system, the Android M.
According to SamMobile, the world-renowned mobile phone company has been testing a beta version of Android Lollipop 5.1.1., which is scheduled to be available for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users by the end of July.
The report from the tech news website also noted how this update has been a bit late considering that Google is already brewing for the release of another big software update in the form of the Android M by the third quarter of 2015, as announced during the Google I/O.
Back in September 2014, Samsung released Galaxy Note 4 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, which quickly got old due to another OS release from Google.
Samsung released an update on the Galaxy Note's software, the Android Lollipop 5.0, in the first part of 2015. The move was deemed a substantial update, according to tech news website GottaBeMobile.com.
Samsung's Android 5.1.1 update, says GottaBeMobile.com, would be similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge's software update leaked a few weeks ago, as it contains minimal but very relevant updates to some major problems in the first version of the Android Lollipop.
Aside from the bug fixes, the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 would also deliver a couple of new features, including the guest mode. This new feature will allow owners of Samsung phones to create a separate profile to keep their personal files and apps from prying eyes.
Another new thing incorporated in the Android 5.1.1 update is a useful camera quality-enhancement feature, which was initially featured in a separate report of SamMobile.
According to the report, the new camera feature has enabled Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users to match the photo quality produced by Apple phones through allowing exposure adjustments from the point of focus in the viewfinder. Whether professional or not, photo snappers who use the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in taking photos under low light would get high-quality photos, same as that of Apple's iPhone.
