British actor Henry Cavill will reportedly be part of the second installment of the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, which is based from the erotic novels of British author, E.L. James.

According to NewsEveryday, Cavill is being eyed to play the role of Jack Hyde, Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) boss in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker."

Cavill is best known for playing Superman in the 2013 hit movie "Man of Steel," as per Melty.

According to Wikia, Hyde is a 32-year-old former Commissioning Editor at Seattle Independent Publishing.

"As a child, Jack grew up in Detroit, MI. His father died in a bar fight and his mother was an alcoholic, so he was placed into foster care. When Christian's birth mother committed suicide, Christian [Grey] was placed into the same foster home that Jack was in," added the same report.

He reportedly had a "violent history" growing up though he was able to overcome his life struggles by sealing a scholarship at Princeton University and earning an English Literature degree.

Despite having a successful career, Jack still developed "jealousy and resentment" when the Grey family decided to adopt Christian instead of him.

A similar VCPost report noted that "Fifty Shades Darker" will run on a suspense-laden plot and will be more of a thriller movie.

A trailer for the movie posed the question "Are you ready for something darker?" and showed Grey wearing a black mask.

NewsEveryday added that in the second movie of the trilogy, Steele will reject Grey's (Jamie Dornan) offer to work for him as an intern. Instead, she lands a job with Hyde as her boss; the latter will eventually get attracted to Ms. Steele. Cavill's character will quickly become "maniacally obsessed with the young Anastasia."

"Throughout the movie, Steele is trying to come to terms with Grey's need to have a dominant-submissive relationship," added NewsEveryday, noting that in the first installment, Steele left Grey because she did not want to be the submissive in the relationship.

Aside from Hyde, the VCPost report said that fans should also look out for the introduction of Leila Williams, Christian's former submissive-turned-stalker who will reportedly be played by Cara Delevingne.

It has also been reported that Cavill will be competing for the role of Hyde against other actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jai Courtney, Wes Bentley and Shawn Ashmore.

If in case Cavill will be chosen to play the said role, will he be able to successfully transition from playing Superman to portraying Fifty Shades Darker character? This is the most important question from "Fifty Shades" fans. Nevertheless, the actor remains to be a fan-favorite to play the said role.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will be released on February 10, 2017, according to IMDB.
