Fans finally saw a scene that was yet to happen in the books. In case you didn't catch the last episode of HBO's "Game of Thrones" yet, spoiler alert: Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) finally came face to face.

Of course, this hasn't happened in the books yet, but in order to maintain the pacing in the television series, producers found it necessary to divert from the books, specially considering that showrunner Dan Weiss already previously pointed out that the production team wanted to finish the entire series in seven seasons.

Showrunner David Benioff told Entertainment Weekly about the unexpected meeting: "Creatively it made sense to us, because we wanted it to happen. They're two of the best characters of the show. To have them come so close together this season then have them not meet felt incredibly frustrating. Also, we're on a relatively fast pace. We don't want to do a 10-year adaptation of the books, we don't want to do a nine-year adaptation. We're not going to spend four seasons in Meereen. It's time for these two to get together."

He also added, "There will always be some fans who will think it's blasphemy. But we can't not do something because we're afraid of the reaction. I like to think we've always done what's in the best interest of the show and we hope most people agree."

Another big turn for the last episode, as noted by Coming Soon, is that when Cersei (Lena Headey) found herself imprisoned after speaking with the High Sparrow. This means the awaited penance walk will be happening soon; probably by the next episode. According to the brief synopsis on TV.com, Cersei's troubles are going to pile up, after all.

If it isn't too early to ask, will Cersei finally join her beloved son Joffrey?

Entertainment Weekly also noted that for next week, Tyrion and Dany will have a conversation, and is expected to be among the best scenes.

The death of Ser Barristan earlier this season was a blow for fans, it also established how much the young queen will need Tyrion's counsel, something that she has to come to terms with. However, whether or not she can bring herself to trust a Lannister is something fans will have to see.

A Lannister always pays his debts, anyway.

With only a few episodes left until the end of the season, do you think Tyrion will fare well in Meereen?

Without further ado, catch the trailer for the next episode below!
