Recently, reports over an alleged Sony handset hit the web, soon after a leaked render took the public's interest. The rumored device is codenamed Lavender, Christian Today noted, and if speculations hold truth, it might as well be the highly-anticipated Sony Xperia Z5.

Looking at the leaked design, one could easily notice its ultra-thin bezels that ultimately provide a larger display and a more premium feel. Indeed, if this is the Xperia Z5, Sony looks to be extending its efforts in crafting a phone that steers away from the generic appearance of its predecessor.
To some, the Xperia Z4 smartphone has been a disappointment, considering that it didn't change much of the Xperia Z3's physical aesthetics.
According to the Ecumenical News, Sony has been using the Omni-Balance design for its flagship devices for nearly five generations already.
Interestingly, the Xperia Z5 (or Lavender, whichever you prefer), appears to be targeted at the selfie-obsessed market. As told by Christian Today, the device is purported to pack a 13 MP front snapper -- a resolution that crushes selfie-shooters found in the iPhone 6 (1.2 MP), Samsung Galaxy S6 (5 MP), HTC One M9 (4 MP) and LG G4 (8 MP).
The Xperia Z5's secondary camera reportedly sits next to an LED flash. Its main snapper, on the other hand, is believed to go by the same megapixel count.
In terms of display, the Xperia Z5 could pack a QHD resolution, Yibada noted. The outlet cited earlier rumors, which claimed that the handset shall sport Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 under its hood -- though current reports are said to point the inclusion of "some other chip."
As previously reported, the Xperia Z5 is touted to arrive with two other companions -- the Xperia Z5 Ultra and the Xperia Z5 Compact. The standard flagship is speculated to pack 4 GB of RAM, Sense ID, 32 GB starting storage, 4,500 mAh battery, micro SD slot and a "brand new camera sensor."
The new device is particularly rumored to take inspiration from Sony's native Bravia TV, which hints on the inclusion of a "frosted glass" effect.
The Sony Xperia Z5 is expected for release in September, Yibada wrote. As told by the outlet, the device may arrive only in Japan.
Meanwhile, the Ecumenical News cited a broader Q4 launch window, even pointing reports which suggested a January 2016 arrival. But of course, until Sony gives a word, these details are best taken with healthy pinches of salt.
With regards to pricing, xperiaz5sony.com sees the Xperia Z5 to come at $1,000.
