Coming to PS4 and Xbox One on July 14, 2015, EA Sports' "Rory McIlroy PGA Tour" 2015 is expected to bring in some great changes to the golf franchise especially with its use of the Frostbite Engine.
IGN said gamers are excited for the new engine which is capable of "realistic depictions of real-world courses, detailed fairways and greens, and new modes and features."
It can be noted that golf star Tiger Woods was initially the cover athlete of the game until 2013 when he inked a deal with Zynga Sports 365.
Now, it's McIIroy on the cover as he is the top ranked golfer in the world at present.
In his introduction on the EA Sports website, McIIroy said he idolized best golfers in the world through video games.
"Playing video games is one of the ways I try to relax in my downtime, and one of my favorite video games was golf," McIlroy added, noting that being on the PGA Tour cover and naming it after him is "crazy."
The currently No. 1 pro golfer pointed out that the tagline, "Golf Without Limits," really represents the game well, Daily Mail has learned.
"I'm very proud and humbled to see my face and name on the game. This is a great honour, and something I couldn't even dream of growing up playing the sport," McIIroy said.
While discussing the upcoming game's features, EA Sports said on its website that Frostbite is a user-friendly software that helped developers ensure that the game would "look amazing."
"Outdoor environments are Frostbite 3's specialty, making it the perfect fit for golf. The power of the engine allows us to include the little things to create denser environments. From pinecones to butterflies - the game feels more alive than ever before," EA added.
Aside from this innovation, the game developer also mentioned they overhauled the UI navigation of the game to make it easier for players to get on the course faster.
"The in-game interface has been streamlined to give the action more of a TV broadcast feel. It also sounds better than any golf game before it, thanks to all-new commentary from Frank Nobilo and Rich Lerner of Golf Channel," read the features description of the game.
No. 2 golfer Jordan Spieth will also reportedly be included in the game and EA said they will be revealing other players in the coming weeks.
With only two months left before "Rory McIlroy PGA Tour" arrives, fans are already looking forward to playing it and experiencing its new gameplay. For pre-orders of the game, kindly check out this link.
