"Madden NFL 16" cover player Odell Beckham Jr. has used his latest achievement to ask for a higher pay for players in the league.

"I think that we should make more money, personally," Beckham told The Huffington Post.

According to NFL.com, the wide receiver's contract during his rookie season guarantees him $10.4 million for the first four years of the deal.

Beckham said NFL players deserve bigger paychecks because the sport is "more physical."

"I understand that basketball plays 80-something games, baseball plays this many games, soccer plays that many games, but this is a sport that's most-watched in America. A sport where there's more injuries. There's more collisions," Beckham explained.

He added that the sport could not be tagged as just a "full-contact sport" but instead a "full-collision sport."

"You have people running who can run 20 miles per hour and they're running downhill to hit you, and you're running 18 miles per hour. That's a car wreck," Beckham gushed.

The wide receiver seemed to have also raised the issue because more NFL players have shortened careers due to serious injuries.

"There's injuries that you have after you leave the game, brain injuries, whatever it is, nerve injuries. And it's just something that I feel as if there's no way someone who -- even if they did their three or four years in the league -- should have to worry about money for the rest of their lives," he added.

In defense of the NFL, The Guardian explained that the lower salaries could be due to the large rosters in the league compared to other sports. The revenue is said to be divided among a bigger number of players.

Then, Beckham insisted that the money they earn will still not be enough once their careers are over.

"Out of the gate I feel as if there could be more money up front for the players. I'm not a player rep or anything, but speaking on what I've seen and I can see how those 30 for 30s and people go broke and stuff like that," he said.

Beckham added, "Tomorrow's never promised. So I feel as if that they should all have been compensated for being in the NFL and being on a team. I understand we have more players, but look, there has to be some way to balance that out."

The opinion from the much-talked about NFL player comes after he was chosen as the cover of EA Sports' "Madden NFL 16," which is expected to be launched on Aug. 25 in North America, on Aug. 25 and Aug. 29 in Europe and will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, according to Christian Today.

The upcoming game will reportedly have new controls which will allow players "to dominate in the battle for air supremacy."

"New QB mechanics including body-relative throws, plus touch and roll out passes provide you with unprecedented depth and control while under center. Combined with a new risk/reward catch and pass-defend system, get ready for the biggest WOW moments in franchise history," added the game description posted on the EA Sports website.
