Bruce Jenner's ex-wife, Kris Jenner, is said to be blocking the participation of the former's sons, Brody and Brandon, in the Keeping Up with the Kardashian TV special where her ex-husband will open up about his transitioning into a woman. However, the famous momager expressed her support to Bruce in his chosen identity.
OK Magazine said that an insider revealed the desire of the brothers to take part in the episode and even scheduled tapings for it. However, it turned out that they will have no part on the special episode about their father.
"Days were blocked out for them to film and [Kris] pulled the plug. She didn't want them on the show," the insider said in the OK Magazine report. It was also noted that all the Kardashian and Jenner girls will be seen on the said episode but Rob will be nowhere in sight.
"It was a huge deal. Kris runs the show. She wants it to be about her family and not the other kids," added the source.
According to OK Magazine, there has been a "serious divide" in the family after Bruce's revelation. It appears that his ex-wife and step-daughter, Khloe Kardashian, had a hard time accepting his decision. The KUWTK special episode will be the first time that the family will discuss Jenner's gender transition after he revealed it in a tell-all interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer.
US Magazine noted that Kris is "totally behind" Bruce's decision to transition to a female.
"[The] family's doing great, and Bruce is doing great. And everybody's super supportive. [I'm] really happy for him," Kris told US Magazine. This remark reportedly came after her daughter, Kim Kardashian, spoke about how the family was dealing with the situation.
"My mom is doing really good. We're really excited. I was with Bruce yesterday and we were just saying what an exciting time in his life this is. And everyone, including my mom, we're just so happy he can be himself and happy," Kim was quoted as saying in the US Magazine report.
For Kris, she added that she felt that her support was needed by the entire family. "We felt so badly about what's happened and just as a mom, I can't even imagine the trauma that I would feel if my kids were taken away or I couldn't have access to my kids when they were 3 and 5 years old," she shared.
She continued, "I don't think I could bear being separated from my children, for any length of time. So I'm just here to support her and just offer any amount of comfort that we can give. And hopefully, she can find some great support, even on the political side."
The two-part special, called "Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce," will air on Sunday, May 17 and will continue on Monday at 9 p.m.
