An official announcement from Samsung regarding the Galaxy Tab S2 hasn't been issued yet, but several reports are claiming that the tablet is indeed a go.
According to Uber Gizmo, suspicions about the gadget's existence were confirmed when the change-log of the Hancom Office Hshow application showed that it supports the Galaxy Tab S2, which is an unusual move considering that the tech giant hasn't announced the device yet.
Listed below are the rumored specs and features of the Galaxy Tab S2.
Specs & Features
Uber Gizmo claimed that the gadget will come in at two sizes: an 8-inch and 9.7-inch variants. Both versions are expected to have Super AMOLED 2,048×1,536 pixel resolution display with a 64-bit Exynos processor, 3GB RAM space, 32GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, and LTE support, among other features.
Android Geeks added that the tablet will have an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front-facing shooter. The Android 5.1 Lollipop could be the Galaxy Tab S2's OS, though Ecumenical News contradicted this by saying that the device will run using the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Design
As for the tablet's design, Twitter user @OnLeaks has leaked the alleged render of the Galaxy Tab S2. Android Geeks pointed out that the leak showcases a "more premium finish and metallic frame on the sides," just like the tech giant's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets.
According to Android Geeks, the Galaxy Tab S2's predecessor sported a design similar to the Galaxy S5 mobile. So there is a possibility that the Galaxy Tab S2 will bear resemblance to the Galaxy S6.
The render also displays what appears to be a SIM card slot, meaning that the tablet could have cellular connectivity and 4G LTE network support, the news outlet added.
Another concept render of the Galaxy Tab S2 was designed by Saber Mahmodi based on the Galaxy S6 Edge, Ecumenical News reported. The render showed the tablet in golden colors with rounded edges, with narrow screen bezels present in its screen to provide a curved appearance. The design also features a big Home button presumably containing a fingerprint scanner, as well as a pulse sensor located on the tablet's back.
Price
PC Advisor estimated that the Galaxy Tab S2 8-inch variant will cost around $500, while the 9.7-inch version will be priced more than $600.
Release Date
Android Geeks speculated that Samsung is planning to unveil the device very soon, possibly around June or July. Techno Buffalo pointed out that the original Galaxy Tab S was announced at this timeframe as well.
Ecumenical News, however, reported that the gadget will be unveiled in Q2 or Q3 of this year.
