"Captain America: Civil War" is not coming out until next year, but with production officially beginning, it seems that a lot of spoilers already leaked, with a new generation of Avengers possibly making their way into the film, some clues as to a death by a major character, and the synopsis already released.
Let's start from the last one. Breathe Cast noted that a press release printed the synopsis of the film, which read, "Captain America: Civil War' picks up where 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain."
This means that yes, there's going to be a new group of Avengers for this one, although Robert Downey Jr. will still be reprising his role as Tony Stark / Iron Man. While the International Business Times noted that fans are speculating about Spider-Man's appearance, it hasn't been confirmed yet.
There is also a rumor from Heroic Headlines claiming that a funeral will be taking place, as "extras are being asked to wear formal, solid black attire for the event" for May 12. With the weather forecast on that date set to be cloudy, it seemed like the perfect day for a funeral. Whose death it's going to be is still a question.
One of the big guesses is that it will be Captain America's death in the film, according to Comic Book, as based on the original story, he will surrender himself to SHIELD custody and is murdered on the courthouse before his trial, and his death will lead to Bucky Barnes taking up the title as Captain America.
On the other hand, Bill Foster AKA Goliath will be a definite casualty on "Civil War" if the original story is to be followed. Comic Book explained that Goliath hasn't been seen in any of the Marvel movies yet, but he is going to be fighting on Captain America's side until Ragnarok, a robot made by Tony Stark, will send "a lightning bolt through his chest."
Who do you think will die in "Civil War"?
