Salma Hayek shared the beauty skincare secret why her 48 years of age doesn't show.

The movie star said in an interview with ELLE magazine that an ingredient called Tepezcohuite from her home country Mexico keeps her face looking fresh and beautiful, adding that good beauty tips were passed down to her from her family, particularly from her grandmother who taught Hayek how to take care of her skin since she was a young girl.

"I use an ingredient called Tepezcohuite that's used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there's no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us," Hayek told the beauty magazine. "Some of the ingredients, when I took them to the American labs, they were like 'Oh my god! How come nobody is using this?'"

She continued, "When we were growing up, people would burn the seed of this fruit called Mamey. It doesn't exist here, and with the oil, you put it in your lashes to make them grow longer. We use it also on the hair."

The lead star of "The Prophet" also revealed that the secret ingredients are enough to make her stay away from plastic surgery clinics. She insisted that she has no Botox, peels, or fillings and only uses creams on her skin, ELLE magazine reported.

In a press conference for her CVS beauty line, Nuance Salma Hayek, the brunette beauty said that she is against SPF in creams and makeup. When asked why by NY Mag, Hayek said that "it's a lot of chemicals that can affect the formula of the cream" and that it doesn't need to be applied 90 percent of the time. She added that her beauty line only has one product with SPF in it.

As for her other beauty routine, the Mexican actress said that she never washes her face in the morning because "it's bad" for the skin, NY Mag wrote. According to Hayek, she just applies moisturizer, adding that people tells you to wash your face every morning to "sell more creams."

"When you moisturize, sometimes it just makes you feel good," Hayek said, as quoted by the news outlet. "It wakes you up; it makes you feel like you had a great breakfast like it was healthy or something."

Hayek also makes sure that her line of work as a famous movie star doesn't alter her perception of beauty.

"My perception of beauty has become more simple," she said, as quoted by NY Mag. "I have learned to find beauty in the simple things and the essence of the individual - like the way they look at something. I allow myself to find an image pleasant because I say so, not because somebody has told me that is the way it's supposed to look."

Nuance Salma Hayek is sold at CVS stores nationwide and at cvs.com.
