The Nokia N1 tablet is now officially sold outside China, CNET reported. According to the outlet, the device will be offered beginning with Taiwan this month, for a retail price of 8,190 Taiwanese dollars (approximately $265).

Though Nokia has always been known as a Finnish company, Tech News Today wrote that the Nokia N1 is a Foxconn product. The outlet noted that distribution and marketing responsibilities stay with the Taiwanese manufacturer, which apparently explain why the tablet was initially limited to China.

As of press time, however, Nokia has not confirmed whether the tablet rolls out in Europe or North America, Christianity Daily said. As cited by the source, the company could first gauge how the device will be received in Asian markets, before having it pitched in other international regions.

With regards to specs / features, the Nokia N1 sports a 7.9 inch screen that houses a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The display features an IPS panel with LED backlight, including a fully laminated zero air-gap build. This is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

In particular, the device boasts of Nokia's very own Z Launcher, described to be an intuitive home screen that "makes things simple." Scribbling a letter, for instance, delivers the user's needs.

The launcher is also available for Android smartphones. Nokia shares, "Nokia Z Launcher adapts to you and what you're doing to bring you what you need, when you need it. The more you use it, the better it gets."

The tablet runs Intel's 64-bit Atom processor Z3580, clocked at 2.3 GHz. This is coupled by LPDDR3 (800 MHz) 2 GB of RAM and a 32 GB storage. Weighing 318 g, the device measures 200.7 mm x 138.6 mm x 6.9 mm.

In terms of camera, the Nokia N1 packs an 8 MP rear-facing shooter (supported by autofocus) and a 5 MP front-facing snapper (supported by fixed focus). Video recording offers up to 1080p resolution.

The device is powered by a 18.5 Wh (5300 mAh) rechargeable lithium polymer battery.

Wireless support includes Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) dual channel (2.4GHz & 5GHz) with MIMO and Bluetooth 4.0. In addition, it comes with a USB Type-C reversible connector.

Built on aluminum with surface anodization, the Nokia N1 is available in Natural Aluminum or Lava Gray color choices. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
