Singer Chris Brown has been accused on Monday of fighting with another man reportedly during a basketball game in Las Vegas.

As per TMZ's initial report, Brown has already been named a suspect for battery and the altercation happened at the posh Palms Casino Resort.

"Chris was playing hoops at 3:42 AM and at some point he got into an argument with one of the guys playing -- and allegedly punched him. The pickup game was being played in the famous Hardwood Suite ... where Chris was staying," added TMZ.

The authorities reportedly went to the scene but was not able to converse with Brown upon arrival because the latter was unavailable. The singer now has the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery and agree to show up in court to face the charge or face the District's Attorney's office which could file charges against him, as per TMZ.

Brown's publicist Nicole Perna said in a CNN report that the singer denies his involvement in the confrontation.

"Chris is currently in Las Vegas as he is performing at Drai's on May 5th and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well. He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person," added Perna.

CNN received reports that the victim was treated for the injuries sustained at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and was released afterwards.

According to Daily Mail, the incident comes less than two weeks after the singer had an out-of-court settlement with another man who accused him of assault also during a a basketball game.

"Malcolm Ausbon filed lawsuit claiming the singer and three of his entourage beat him up in the middle of a game at a 24-Hour Fitness in LA last year," added Daily Mail.

The victim reportedly threatened Brown to pay him $250k or he will escalate the incident to the police.

It was noted that the singer didn't pay the full amount that Ausbon was demanding. Brown's lawyers called Ausbon's move as a way of extorting money from Brown.

This is not the first time that Brown was involved in assault allegations as he has just been recently released from a six-year probation after he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

He was not jailed for that incident but Daily Mail said he spent more than two months in prison for hitting a man outside a Washington hotel last October 2013.
