Rumors about the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 5 not only go against its competitors in other tech companies. The device also competes against smartphones made by Samsung.

We compared how the Galaxy Note 5 fares with Galaxy Note 4. Note that these are rumors for now and official news from Samsung is yet to be announced about the Galaxy Note 5.

Features & Specs

Gotta Be Mobile reported that the Galaxy Note 5 would come in at a 6-inch Ultra HD display at 700+ pixels per inch for both a flat and Edge model, with an impressive 2160 x 3840 resolution. The Galaxy Note 4, in comparison, has a 5.7" Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a 2560 x1440 resolution, Samsung's official site wrote.

The Korea Herald reported that the Galaxy Note lineup could possibly have a curved display similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge. GalaxyNote5Edge.com listed other specs of the device such as advanced Touch ID, retina scanner, a metal design, fast charging capabilities (5 to 10 minutes), 27 MP ULL sensitivity rotator camera from front to rear, microSD slot, and front stereo speakers.

Venture Capital Post claimed that the Galaxy Note 5 will be at 7.9 mm thin in size. Other rumored specs of the device are: the Android 5.1 OS, USB type C port for connectivity, and an internal storage as high as 128 GB.

Digitimes also reported that Qualcomm is attempting to get its Snapdragon chips back to Samsung's flagship mobile devices. The Galaxy Note 4 runs on the 1.9GHz Octa Core, the company's official site noted. The handset has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory.

A rumor published on Android Origin claims that the Galaxy Note 5 could be equipped with virtual reality technology, a feat which Samsung is largely invested in developing. However, the technology is still in its early stages and if it would be included in the Galaxy Note 5, interested users would still have to wait on how it would work on the smartphone.

Conclusively, Gotta Be Mobile reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will focus on premium design, impressive camera quality, and a powerful battery life. This was all revealed in comments made on Pocket-lint by the tech giant's UK's vice president for mobile and IT Conor Pierce.

Price

It's too early to tell how much the Galaxy Note 5 would cost, but GalaxyNote5Edge speculated that it would be priced no less than $1000. Venture Capital Post noted that it could be sold at $830 or more. The Galaxy Note 4 can be bought at $700, Tech Radar reported.

Release Date

Venture Capital Post reported that the Galaxy Note 5 could be launched at the Berlin IFA Consumer Electronics Trade Show scheduled from September 4 to 9. Previous Galaxy Note models were also announced in past events of the IFA.
