The first official photo of the "Suicide Squad" cast has been unveiled.

Tweeted by director and writer David Ayer on May 4, the image showed the Task Force X ensemble in full costume, consisting of (from left to right): Adam Beach (Slipknot), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Karen Fukuhara (Katana), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), and Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), Cinema Blend listed.

Check out the assembled cast of "Suicide Squad" below.

Other cast members not included in the snapshot was Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Scott Eastwood, Common, Jim Parrack, Ike Barinholtz, Raymond Olubowale, and Alex Meraz, Cinema Blend wrote. There are also speculations going around that the film will feature Jesse Eisenberg reprising his role as Lex Luthor after his debut appearance in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

On the same day, Ayer also put up a solo shot of Smith's antihero assassin Deadshot. Check out the photo here. Last month, the director shared a snapshot of Jared Leto's tattooed and green-haired Joker on his Twitter page.

IGN wrote that there are also rumors saying that Ben Affleck will make a cameo appearance as Batman after he was spotted on the set of the DC Comics supervillain movie. "Suicide Squad," which is currently shooting in Toronto, Canada, is slated for release in theaters on August 5, 2016, Cinema Blend added.

A report from Latino-Review claims that "Suicide Squad" will not be the debut of Leto's Joker on the big screen. The site reports that they "heard murmurs of a flashback sequence that had supposedly been added to 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' where we'd see Jared Leto's Joker beating and killing Jason Todd, aka Robin."

If this rumor is true, the plot would be canon with the events in the classic 1988 Batman comics storyline "A Death In the Family," another report from IGN pointed out. Latino-Review added that Robin's murder will put Joker in jail in "Suicide Squad."

"Suicide Squad" was created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru back in 1959, ComingSoon.net reported. The team, also known as Task Force X, is composed of imprisoned supervillains carrying out high-risk and life-threatening missions for the U.S. government in exchange for commuted sentences. Other DC villains involved in Task Force X are Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Frost, and Count Vertigo.
