A day before their megafight, more than 11,000 fans witnessed the official weigh-in of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The weigh-in, according to BBC, had an entry ticket worth $10 but these were reportedly sold in the resale market for a big $800 because fans were willing to pay that much just to see the two fighters inches away from each other.
The so-called "Fight of the Century," where the WBC, WBA and WBO titles are at stake, is estimated to earn about $400 million, as per BBC.
During the weigh in, Mayweather was at 146 pounds while Pacquiao was at 145lb.
"I believe that with my skills, I'm going to be victorious. I don't take anything away from Manny Pacquiao, he's a solid fighter and it will be an intriguing match-up. But after Saturday, I'll still be 'TBE' [The Best Ever]," Mayweather said in the BBC report.
For his part, Pacquiao explained that he wants to give the fans a good fight because they deserve it.
"The Lord will always be with me and strengthen me and deliver him into my hands," he added.
Coming in as a smaller fighter, the Filipino champion maintained that he is used to fighting bigger guys since he already fought with Oscar De La Hoya and Antonio Margarito. "It doesn't matter to me," Pacman added.
For the first time at the MGM, tickets were sold during the weigh-in as there were so many people wanting to witness the event. BBC noted that the proceeds of the ticket sales will go to the chosen charities of the two fighters.
First to be introduced was the smiling Pacquiao, who even managed to take a selfie prior to him walking towards the stage. People were reportedly cheering for him while Mayweather was booed while he made his way into the stage.
During the stare-down, BBC reported that Pacquiao mouthed a "thank you" to Mayweather but the latter did not respond, saying he did not know exactly what Pacman said.
Meanwhile, ESPN said that the electricity of the stare-down "surged through the crowd."
"It was only the third time they have seen each other during the promotion -- once at the kickoff news conference in March, once at the final news conference Wednesday, and then at the weigh-in," added the same report.
The next time they will see eye to eye will be on Saturday as they try to battle it out for 12 rounds inside the ring for the very first time.
Mayweather said he is all set to go against Pacquiao. "My frame of mind is listen to this man right here, my father [and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr.] because without this man I wouldn't be where I am toda. I'm ready. I'm ready to fight. This is an unbelievable turnout. Now it's time to go out there and do what we do best," he said, as quoted by ESPN.
Everyone is excited to finally see how this megafight will turn out as the public have waited for this long enough to build this kind of anticipation. Indeed, Saturday's boxing match marks a memorable day in the history of boxing.
