The law firm rivalry reached a dramatic boiling point on the 100th episode of "The Good Wife."

The episode "The Decision Tree" began with Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) speeding through the streets of Chicago, chasing new Lockhart/Gardner partner Damian Boyle (Jason O'Mara).

John Noble also reappeared in a flashback as the eccentric Matthew Ashbaugh. At the time of the flashback, Will (Josh Charles) was there to comfort Alicia (Julianna Margulies), but now, the memory only strengthens their current antagonism. Will remembers Alicia saying, "this is the happiest I've ever been," which makes his heartbreak even worse.

The case of the week dealt with Ashbaugh's will, in which he left half of his estate to Alicia. Once again, it becomes Lockhart/Gardner v. Florrick/Agos, with millions at stake. However, the judge is Peter Dunaway (Kurt Fuller), who is biased against Alicia. Diane (Christine Baranski) steps in for Boyle to assist Will. Boyle is outmaneuvered by Hayden (Nathan Lane), which works out in the end for Cary (Matt Czuchry) and Alicia, who win the case.

Before the trial, Will has a fantasy about questioning Alicia in court and getting the better of her. In his fantasy, Alicia is vulnerable, with eyes filled with tears. More than anything, Will wants revenge for getting taken advantage of and abandoned.

But the episode did not allow Will's fantasy to come to fruition. Alicia is stronger than ever, and successfully outmaneuvers him and implicates David Lee and Lockhart/Gardner in the process.

Meanwhile, Kalinda has a new love interest, Detective Jenna Villette (Jordana Spiro), and real-life political analyst and Vice Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee Donna Brazile played herself to ask if Peter (Chris Noth) is interested in the 2016 presidential race. She asked him "who's suiting up and who's sitting on the sidelines."

The episode also featured the Florrick/Agos holiday party, where Peter and Alicia's children were in attendance.

Marilyn (Melissa George) also made the big announcement that she is pregnant with a boy, and wants to name him Peter.

TVLine reports that a future episode will feature the return of Hunter Parrish, who will reprise his role as college student and possible murderer Jeffrey Grant in the 15th episode of the season. When he returns, he will have spent six months in jail.

Showrunner Robert King also hinted that the complicated Will/Alicia relationship could possibly change. "Creatively, you don't want to live in one world for too long," King said. "So it either goes deeper, or it goes the other way. It's a very interesting relationship now that it's flipped from love to hate. So we want to continue to explore that, and we will."

He also shared that the Kalinda/Jenna relationship will progress in the second half of the season. Additionally, Alicia and Peter's politically advantageous but complex relationship will continue to be explored.

"The Good Wife" returns in early 2014. The air date of episode 11 has not yet been announced.
