Mr. Dempsey has got some major revamping going on with him lately. And no, we are not even talking about his recently-acquired 1950's bungalow just a mile off the Venice Beach.

In December of 2014, the 49-year-old actor, together with his wife and make-up artist Jillian Fink, dropped $1.9 million, through a blind trust, for the award-winning contemporary micro-compound built by Touraine Richmond Architects, according to the Variety. Now, what to do about the new residence would be the least of Dempsey's worries right at the moment.

Jillian just filed for divorce back in late January. It seems like an amicable split for the couple who has been together for about 15 years, notes E Online.

Also, his well-received character of Dr. Derek Shepherd in ABC's hit drama series "Grey's Anatomy" was booted out of the show via an untimely death. This came as a real shocker to the many fans who thought that their dear McDreamy was there to stay for long. And, they've got a good reason to believe so because of the two-year contract extension he just inked last year, says People.com.

Now, the couple has reportedly listed their Malibu love nest on the market for $14.5 million.

The Frank Gehry-designed home has 5,500 square feet of living space, and is perched on a 3.3-acre lot atop the Malibu hills. It was originally both a home and a studio for abstract painter Ron Davis, who dwelled on the place back in the 70's, according to the DailyMail.

"We were looking for a little land and space, and a house with some architectural significance," Dempsey told the Architectural Digest as he recalls their house hunting time almost five years ago. "The exterior's simplicity appealed to me, and the inside felt very expansive and calming. Everywhere you looked there was something visually pleasing."

Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland is the listing agent for the 3-bed, 3.5-bath property, as per Zillow. Take a tour of the property here.

The wooden flooring of the home is made out of repurposed scaffolding, and a lot of natural colors and textures can also be observed in the interiors.

The property also features a swimming pool area with a recycled-wood deck and a firepit, a climbing wall, a pizza oven, views of the nearby ocean, an al fresco kitchen, and a mini farm.

The house was home to the couple along with their three children, Talula (12) and twins Darby and Sullivan (8), ever since they got a hold of it back in 2009 for a cool $7 million. The actor had his family in mind when he decided to go for this particular property.

"This is a family home and we want it to be inviting and comfortable and casual and relaxed so you're not uptight about things," Dempsey pointed out in last year's March issue of the Architectural Digest, as told in an article by the People.com.

"What's great about it is you know where everyone is in the house... there's no separation. You don't lose your kids ... I like the intimacy, even with the great volume you have here."
