After four vengeful seasons in the Hamptons, Emily VanCamp and the rest of the cast from ABC's "Revenge" will be taking their final bow.

According to USA Today, the series, which is about a woman avenging the death of her father, will wrap up on May 10, with the network working overtime in promoting its end, with two major characters already bidding adieu.

"Revenge," which has been a major hit in its first season, has since declined in viewership, and is only raking up 6.6 million views --- 22% less than last season, when it was already in danger of cancellation.

Executive producer Sunil Nayar told Entertainment Weekly, "We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story,. We've been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale-which is fabulous-everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of 'Revenge' that will be airing in a couple weeks."

Nayar also promised that loyal fans will get the closure they need, with a "tiny little cliffhanger". He shared, "We don't want people to get weary of the stories we're telling, so we felt like they deserve an ending to this novel that Mike Kelley started four years ago. I really feel like the last couple chapters are worthy of the first many."

For those who are furious about the series getting cut off just like that, though, E! News noted that there is a potential spinoff, with a new series called "The Kingmakers." The series also comes from "Revenge" writer and producer, Sally Patrick, with a storyline very similar to the one that's just about to wrap up.

As E! News explained, the story centers on a young man who is taking in a new identity to get into an elite group at an Ivy League to investigate the death of his sister. Should this get the greenlight, it will star newcomer Gus Halper, with a slew of established TV stars including Kristin Bauer Van Straten from "True Blood", Adrian Pasdar from "Heroes", Michael Trevino of "The Vampire Diaries", and "Colin Woodell" from "The Originals".

When asked about it, however, Nayar was adamant about "The Kingmakers" not being a spinoff of "Revenge." He told EW, "There isn't a whole lot that I can say to that except that Kingmakers is fabulous...It's got the blood and passion of Revenge hardwired into what the show is, but at the moment, it is not a spinoff in that there's no characters from this show that are, at the moment, planning on being in that show, but never say never."

So what do you think of "Revenge" wrapping up? Will you watch " The Kingmakers" if it finds itself on the small screen next season?
