After the launch of iPad Mini 3, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will reportedly offer an enhanced model, the iPad Mini 4, this coming October.

According to Venture Capital Post, the iPad Mini 4 is said to be slimmer, faster and more secure than the iPad Mini 3 with its Touch ID fingerprint sensor, making the iPad Mini 4 an upgraded and refreshed version of its predecessor.

When the iPad Mini 3 was launched, industry watchers noticed that it was very similar to the iPad Mini 2, the only difference is its fingerprint identity sensor. Moreover, according to Day Herald, the iPad Mini 3 costs more or less a hundred dollars more than the iPad Mini 2 with its mostly similar features. Having not much enhancement in the device made critics protest against the price increase.

In terms of affordability, there is a chance that the iPad Mini 4 will be better than its predecessor, Venture Capital Post noted. This is good news for Apple users who want to constantly upgrade their gadgets.

On the other hand, it is speculated that the original iPad Mini and iPad Mini 3 will be discontinued once iPad 4 arrives, leaving the iPad Mini 2 as a more affordable option, according to Mac World.

The next iPad product coming from Apple will be more high-tech than the last, Day Herald claimed. Citing reports from various tech sites, the outlet noted that the iPad Mini 4 will be the "slimmest tablet" yet with its aluminum chassis slimmer than the present model. Compared to iPad Mini 3, the new version will still have a 7.9-inch display but with an Apple A9 processor, which is faster than Mini 3's A7 chip with 2 GB of RAM. It will then be more handy in terms of communication, such as video calls and teleconferencing. In addition, a microphone hole is chosen to replace the lock/mute switch. Day Herald also mentioned that the speaker grill will be similar to the iPad Air 2, which has a single row of large cut outs, in contrast to smaller double row of speaker hole featured in the iPad Mini 3. Moreover, this gadget is believed to hold up to 128 GB storage capacity. It's just, basically, upgrading every spec possible.

Several photos, believed to be images of the Apple iPad Mini 4, have leaked online, including the casing of the device. As of now, verified info have been scarce but as the release date approaches, Apple may soon give its official announcement.
